Austin attorney Joe Stallone practices in the areas of entertainment law, litigation and general business law. As one of the music industry’s leading legal advisors, he represents a large number of music clients, including Grammy-winning artists, record labels, recording studios, producers, managers and agents. In his practice, he guides his clients through complex litigation and advises his clients on various legal and business matters including management, agency, production, publishing, touring, recording, funding, “do it yourself” business models, compensation, business formation, licensing and protection of intellectual property rights.

In addition, he maintains a diverse civil litigation practice, representing a number of individuals and businesses (including Fortune 500 companies) in complex litigation. Along with his music expertise, he has particular litigation experience in commercial and contractual disputes, employment law, trade secret protection (including the enforcement of non-competition agreements), premises liability litigation, and personal injury litigation. His work encompasses all aspects of state and federal litigation, arbitration, and other forms of alternative dispute resolution.

He is a frequent speaker and panelist on topics related to his practice, such as the creation and retention of an artist team, the protection of sound recordings and musical compositions, copyright and trademark law, and the business of music. He is also a professor of Legal Aspects of the Music Industry at the Austin Community College for Music Business.
